Trip 296: Camping in Qammou3a & Hiking to Qobayyat

The Footprints Nature Club would like to invite you this Weekend of Saturday 05 & Sunday 06 September 2015 to the most beautiful place in Lebanon. We will camp on Saturday, and have an amazing hiking trip on Sunday:

Camping in Qammou3a & Hiking to Qobayyat

- A forest that has one of the oldest trees of Juniper, hairy oak, Cilician firs, and Cypresses trees (سنديان، صنوبر، شوح، لزّاب).

- A forest which is considered one of the largest forests in Lebanon since it extends on around 750 Sq. KM.

- A forest that is one of Lebanon’s most important Oxygen supplier.

Well it is the famous forest of Qamoo3a in Akkar El-Ateeka region. The forest extends from Wadi Jhannam to Qobayyat and Fnaydek, thus having more than 10 million trees of different species.

It is simply one of the most beautiful places in Lebanon.

We will move from Beirut on Saturday afternoon to camp in an amazing region in Qammou3a. We will camp under two huge trees... Yes all the tents will be placed under two very big trees.

On Sunday, we will have an amazing hiking trip in the most beautiful region to walk in. The trip will begin from the camp site down to the famous 3othor Forest. We will continue through a hidden trail to end in the splendid Qobayyat Cedars Forest with an Easy to Medium Level Hike.

Throughout the trail we will have un-describable natural views. Just have a look at the photos of the region. We will pass through Al3othor forest غابة العُذر on our way. This forest is a very unique forest in terms of its beauty and type of trees. Note that enjoying the views in the forest in Fall season is totally different that seeing it in Spring. Look at the photos and compare its beauty…

If you have your tent, you can bring it. You will not need to carry it since the bus will reach the camping area. If you don't have a tent, we can provide you one...

The camp is wild, but there will be water to use. No electricity is available. There are toilets, but very basic ones, so take the necessary stuff with you.

You have also to get the food that you need for the two days, since no food is available...

Alcoholic Drinks are strictly not allowed in the camp...

When the hiking group finishes walking, the buses will move to Beirut directly.

In case we have enough participants who want to move from Beirut in the afternoon, we will have a separate bus for them. If not, the whole group will move on Saturday morning.

The fees will be 75,000 LBP (65,000 LBP if you have your tent) including:

  • Tents rentals (if you have your tent, reduce 10,000 LBP from the cost)
  • Transportation from and back to Beirut
  • Guidance during all the trip and in the Camp
  • Hiking trip fees
  • Land owner fees

Reservations should be done as soon as possible as the places are limited. Payments will have to be done before Saturday 05 September.
