Trip 519: Hiking on Darb El-Mseilha - Nahr El-Jouz


Join the Footprints Nature Club this Sunday 05 July 2020 to one of the amazing cool hiking trips next to one of the most beautiful rivers, that will be:

Hiking Darb El-Mseilha near Al-Jouz River - Batroun

The Mseilha Walkway (Darb Mseilha) is easily accessible from the Batroun highway before the Chekka tunnel, about 90 minutes north of Beirut. The start of the trail in Chekka begins nearby the Mseilha Fort, a historic monument built by Emir Fakhreddine II in the 17th century to guard the route between Tripoli and Beirut.

The hike will be mostly be along the Nahr El-Jouz (Nuts River) all the way to the village of Kaftoun. As it is hot these days, and for all of us to stay cool, we will make the hike a bit interesting since we will walk or pass in the water at some points during the hike. So get ready to get your feet wet...

The walk is great for all levels as there will be no uphils during the walk.

Our walk will be of an Easy level (6 to 7/10 – 9.5 KMs – 4 hours).

رحلتنا لهذا الأحد 05 تموز 2020، ستكون بالقرب من أحد أجمل أنهار لبنان في الوديان الرائعة في قضاء البترون وتحديداً:

مشي في الطبيعة على درب المسيلحة على ضفاف نهر الجوز - البترون

رحلتنا ستبدأ بالقرب من طريق عام البترون بإتجاه وادي نهر الجوز. نكمل المسير بالقرب من النهر انتهاء بقرية كفتون

المستوى العام للرحلة هو سهل بمسافة حوالي 9.5 كلم ووقت حوالي الأربع ساعات.

لنضيف بعض البرودة على مسار الرحلة، سنقوم بالمشي في الماء لعبور النهر في بعض الأماكن.

    IF YOU CAN TALK WHILE YOU ARE WALKING, YOU ARE WALKING THE PERFECT SPEED.

    Take a Break

    TAKE A TEN MINUTE BREAK AT LEAST ONCE EVERY HOUR.

    No Food, No Fuel, No Fun

    DRINK FREQUENTLY AND EAT OFTEN.
