Trip 463: Snowshoeing in Laqlouq & Akoura


The snow is now covering all the mountains in Lebanon. This will let us start enjoying our hiking trips on the snow or what is known as "Snowshoeing".

Snowshoeing is simply "hiking on the snow". All you need is to wear your waterproof pants and hiking or snow boots, and hang them on the snowshoes that we will provide.

The Footprints Nature Club would like to invite you this Sunday 27 January 2019, to enjoy snowshoeing in one of the most beautiful regions to walk in especially on the snow:


Snowshoeing in Laqlouq and Akoura

The walk will start from the region between Laqlouq and Akoura, and we will head uphill towards one of the most beautiful spots in the region: Saydet El-Qaren Church. If the conditions allows us to, we will head towards another splendid region in Jurd Al-Akoura...

Amazing views are waiting for us. Thus make sure to bring your cameras, sunglasses, and sunscreen with you...

This trail will be of a Medium level (7/10). It will be around 9 KMs. It shall take around 4 to 5 hours.

Note that we don't usually cancel our trip if it snows since in all cases, we should have our gear.

بعدما غطى الثلج الأبيض جبال لبنان، اصبح بإمكاننا الاستمتاع برحلات المشي على الثلج بما يعرف بالـ Snowshoeing. كل ما يجب فعله هو لبس ثياب واحذية عازلة للماء ونحن بدورنا سنعطيكم حذاء الثلج لتركيبه على احذيتكم.

 

في رحلة رائعة على الثلج، ندعوكم هذا الأحد 27 كانون الثاتي 2019 لمشاركتنا بالمشي في منطقة مميزة وتحديداً:

مشي على الثلج في اللقلوق والعاقورة

رحلتنا ستبدأ من المنطقة الفاصلة بين اللقلوق والعاقورة، ونتجه صعودا باتجاه كنيسة سيدة القرن. اذا سمحت ظروف الرحلة، سنكمل طريقنا باتجاه جرد العاقورة قبل العودة الى الباص.

المستوى العام للرحلة هو متوسط ، المسافة 9 كلم، بوقت حوالي الأربع الى خمس ساعات.

الرجاء اخذ العلم ان رحلاتنا تبقى قائمة حتى ولو كان الجو عاصفاً.

    TAKE A TEN MINUTE BREAK AT LEAST ONCE EVERY HOUR.

    No Food, No Fuel, No Fun

    DRINK FREQUENTLY AND EAT OFTEN.
