First Aid Training with the Lebanese Red Cross


As part of the strategy of both the Footprints Nature Club and the Lebanese Red Cross (LRC) to improve the access of our members to effective pre-hospital emergency care, the Footprints Nature Club would like to invite you on Sunday 26 February 2017, to our:

First Aid Training with the Lebanese Red Cross

The event will be thankfully sponsored by Beirutiyat, and will be hosted in the Beirutiyat offices in Berytech Building - Met7af.

The training will be conducted by certified trainers from the Emergency Medical Services Department of the Lebanese Red Cross (LRC EMS).

Reservations shall be done before Friday 10 February 2017, and will be limited for the first callers...

The LRC EMS has worked with health specialists from the University Hospitals of Geneva, the Geneva school of Paramedics and the French Red Cross, to develop the first aid training curriculum that meets the international best practices in the field.

Also, the training that will be given complies with the requirements of the “Brevet Européen de Secourisme”, after-which all participants will be ready to practice life-saving skills.

A formal certification will be given to those who complete the training successfully.

The number of participants will be limited. Thus the reservation and payments should be done as soon as possible to reserve your seats.

Must Have

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of 8 hours of First Aid training (7 effective hours), the participant will be able to:

  1. Ensure his safety and protect the scene and the patient
  2. Alert EMS and provide key information
  3. Identify and manage a victim who is conscious and choking
  4. Identify and manage a victim who is conscious and bleeding severely
  5. Identify and manage a victim who is unconscious and breathing
  6. Identify and manage a victim who is unconscious and not breathing (CPR – Including AED)
  7. Identify and manage a victim who is conscious and complaining of an illness or pain without trauma
  8. Manage victims who have suffered a trauma:
    • Burn
    • Wound (without severe bleeding)
    • Fall
    • Broken limb

Courses will be given in English or Arabic as the convenience of the Customer

 

METHODOLOGY

Adult learning pedagogical techniques that will be used:

  1. Case studies to benefit from the experience of the participants and involve them in the subject matter
  2. Short discussions and detailed demonstrations as learning activities
  3. Application of all skills in small groups as learning activities
  4. Simulation in real-life scenarios as application activities

Number of Participants: 10 participants per trainer

Participants will apply the main technical skills with the coaching of a trainer until every participant has reached a satisfactory degree of proficiency.

Cost Fees

The event is thankfully sponsored by Beirutiyat. Thus the major part of the cost will be paid by Beirutiyat...

Thus the cost of this event per person will be 22$, including:

  • Cost of the instructors and/or trainers:
    • Actual training time
    • Preparation time
    • Transportation to and from location
  • Cost of equipment and consumables loaned by LRC EMS (per group):
    • CPR manikins
    • First-aid equipment
    • Teaching materials
  • Cost of handouts and technical skill sheets
  • Cost of certificates to be issued
  • Location provided with the required Whiteboard, Flipchart, and Projector
